The Laurel Youth Concert is open to everyone between the ages of 13 and 18 who can sing, or play an instrument. Each participant is given five (5) minutes to perform in front of the audience. Interested performers are expected to be at the concert venue at least 30 minutes before the concert starts in order to sign up and receive a spot to perform. The first ten (10) registrants will be guaranteed to perform. Performers should bring their own instruments or track and be prepared to perform their cover or original songs with clean lyrics only. Groups and solo acts are welcomed!
This event is a friendly gathering. The selection process for individuals and groups that perform each week is on a first come, first served basis. The performers will change weekly in order to allow everyone interested a chance to participate.
In addition, the audience members are encouraged to be supportive of ALL performers; no booing or taunting is allowed.
The purpose of this showcase is to allow the youth of Laurel and surrounding areas a medium to express, hone, share their talent with the community, and foster an atmosphere where the youth can share their love of music. In addition, the event will allow the youth to play on a stage to get a feel for performing for an audience.
The voting process is simple. All the audience members have to do is log on to www.BreasiaProductions.com, Facebook (www.facebook.com/
breasiaproductions) or Twitter (www.twitter.com/ breasiastudios) where they will find a poll or link. They can vote for their favorite artist of the week; everyone gets one vote per day. The votes will be collected and the 8 performers with the most votes will be determined. These top 8 acts will perform one more time for live audience votes.
At the end of the music showcase, there will be three winners. The 3rd place winner will be able to participate in two group vocal lessons at Breasia Productions, 2nd place winner will receive one (1) private vocal coaching session with celebrity vocal coach Eric Arceneaux from AApproach and 1st place winner will receive a recording contract for one song.
Breasia Productions is dedicated to bringing events to life and will run the production and management of the entire music showcase.
